Costa del Sol is the most developed part of the

Many towns have recently modernised promenades
“paseo maritimo”. Most locations are backed by
development. A high variety of bars, restaurants
and nightlife. Sand tends to be brown and fine-grained.
• In Fuengirola area you will find the next
beaches:
In Torreblanca is “Las Gaviotas & Carvajal”,
along the main promenade of Fuengirola and a
blue flag beaches. This is a wide, spacious
sandy area, comprising of several beaches,
access for disabled, sun beds and parasols for
hire, showers and toilets, first aids service,
life guard, several bars and restaurants and
souvenirs shops, litter bins, promenade, public
telephone. Ideal for fishing, surfing and
sailing plus other water sports. Easy parking
space.
The town beaches of Santa Amalia and El Castillo
make up Fuengirola´s longest stretch of bathing
areas. Access for disabled, sun beds and
parasols for hire, pedal boats and sport
equipment for hire, showers and toilets, first
aid service, litter bins and parking. Fishing,
surfing, sailing, sport facilities and all the
necessary amenities that offer the centre of
Fuengirola.
• In Mijas Costa you will find the next beaches:
Calahonda/Riviera del Sol. This is the longest
of the Mijas Costa beaches at over 4,500 meters
long and 25 metres wide. Since it is right at
the foot of the large Sitio de Calahonda
urbanisation, it is a well used beach, with ramp
access, many beach bars and lots of activities,
but it also has some quieter corners for those
who prefer a bit of piece and quiet. This beach
is perfect for the whole family and caters for
sunbathers, scuba divers and fishermen alike. It
is a fairly straight line of beach with golden
sand and plenty of beach beds and parasols for
rent and a good choice of lively beach bars for
refreshment and entertainment.
El Bombo beach, is close to the previous one and
is a beach of 320 metres wide and curves round
slightly into a large bay and forms the eastern
corner of the Cala del Moral beaches. The beach
ends in a small (130 metres) rocky cliff which
is ideal for scuba, snorkelling and under water
swimming. You can hire sun beds and there is a
beach bar for snacks and drinks.
La Cala Beach, Las Doradas is other fantastic
beach in the surroundings. This 35 metres wide
and almost 2,000 metres long beach, with south
and south west orientation, won the E.U. Blue
Flag award in 2002. This is a lovely semi-urban
beach in summer and winter alike, with a very
nice promenade and plenty of good beach bars and
restaurants along the way.
